JAZZ: ACOUSTIC GUITAR
Duos on acoustic guitar & acoustic bass, often with an improvisational feel. Tracks 1, 3, 4, 5, 7 and 9 by Sheryl Bailey; tracks 2, 6, 8, 10 by “Harvie S” (born Swartz).

All instrumental. No FCC issues.

1 Mid-slow. Pastoral, perhaps New Age, guitar. Tricky bass playing. (3:58)
2 Mid-slow. An instrumental blues jam. (5:48)
3 Slow. Complex interplay. Sounds composed rather than improvised. (6:04)
4 * Mid-fast with catchy, bebop elements. The most jazz-like piece so far. (3:43)
5 Slow. A sad, lyrical ballad. Here the guitar leads, bass accompanies. (5:07)
6 * Mid-tempo.Lively & pleasant. A nice showcase for the bass player. (5:40)
7 Slow. Loose and wandering. Both bowed and plucked bass. (4:03)
8 * Slow, sad elegy. Harvie’s homage to the late great Charlie Haden. (5:02)
9 * Mid-tempo. Bright and happy, sounds like it could be a popular song. (5:22)
10 Slow. The two instruments interweave nicely, but the thing drags a bit. (4:20)
