The Deluge
Temporary Residence
Ambient soundsmith best known for The Disintegration Loops made with disintegrating old tapes of his earlier music. This album is a single ancient lilting piano tape loop processed through a series of feedback loops of different lengths, creating a spiraling crescendo of overtones that eventually fades away to silence. RIYL: Brian Eno’s Music for Airports, Harold Budd
**1. (20:07) Beautiful looping, ambient slightly glitchy piano tape loop. By halfway through, a long serpent of digital tape echo has all but swallowed the motif, but it keeps glinting through. It’s the sound of something being almost remembered, something that’s nagging at you but won’t quite slip into focus.
**2. (6:29) In the denouement, a series of limpid piano loops leads to an urgent orchestral theme that builds and gradually dies.
3. (11:23) More beautiful decaying piano loops
