Joe Driscoll and Sekou Kouyate WORLD
Faya 2014
US-born Driscoll (speaks English, no French) and Kouyate (Guinea, speaks French, little English) collaborate by combining Driscoll’s rap, production, and songwriting talents with Kouyate’s electrified kora (West African harp…considered the JIMI HENDRIX of the kora). Can sound like hip-hop, funk, soul, and Afrobeat. Really talented combo. Driscoll kind of sounds like Matisyahu when he raps.
