Album Review

Great drive-time music, reminds me of what got me initially to love Belle & Sebastian, Franz Ferdinand, or Interpol musically. This is upbeat, fresh, optimistic, dynamic musical competency with really solid musical changes, thoroughly enjoyable listen about modern romance. As the label says "..crunchy guitar riffs, fragile vocals, bittersweet lyrics with.. remembrances.. [and] weaves impressive contemplation."
FCC on 6 ("F**ked up")
Fave: 2, 10, 5, 11, 1, 7

**1. Be Your Man - Fun melodic upbeat driving pop-rock with nice harmonies, makes you wanna smile. Speed. Or possibly dance. Yet it is a song about inadequacy. Nice. :)
****2. Chip Off The Heart - Swirly 'verby guitars with dancey drums like a happy Interpol track. Love the guitar with the female singer over. Pump up song. Best breakup song.
3. A Love That Sticks - Mid-tempo track, very full and upbeat sound. "So we wait.." male & female vox
4. Fix Me - Pretty female vox with driving upbeat guitar.
***5. Wolf Eyes - Driving song, female vox, reminds me of Quickspace but more straight, similarities with Metric, but more vocal harmonies.
FCC 6. The First Night We Met - Male vox, steady yet harmonious textures mid-tempo. Leads direct to 7.
**7. All I Got Is Today - Intense guitar strumming textural drone (think George Harrison) male vox, breaks into more of a pop track when fem harmonies kick in, then it reminds me a bit like the Cranberries. Lol. But nice dissonant ending.
**8. Diamond - Fem/male vox (the other girl). Nice choppy track driven by bass, breaks into a nice chorus.
9. Good Winter - Male vox, straight ahead rock, reminds me a little of BTS. Kinda long tho.
*****10. Surgery - Wow! Tight! A bit spacey- surfy. I'm loving this, with spacey pretty fem vox, and driving beat. OMG heartbeat + raunchy steel pedal riff = extra points. Best surgery ever!!!
***11. In Space - Driving bass, jangle guitars.. fem vox, spacey. ahhhhhhh audio candy! Take me to that swirly beautiful place.
