Espanto Caribe is the debut album by Buenos Aires, Argentina trio Las Piñas (The Pineapples). Surf pop heavily influenced by early La Luz but with a distinctive punk attitude. Brief and memorable like a sneaky tropical drizzle. Reviewed by Telepathic Juan.

1. (1:39) **Panteras – Upbeat opener. Captivating. Surf’s up!
2. (2:16) *Hawaii – Melodic medium-up surfer. Nostalgia for foreign waves.
3. (2:53) Costa Este – Another medium-up stomper. Searching for the perfect wave tales.
4. (2:32) Olas Asesinas – This could have been a chill and more introverted Runaways track. Medium tempo.
5. (2:36) *Los Chicos y las Chicas – Early 1990s K records in the style of surf. Medium-up tempo.
6. (1:30) **Pizza – Killer upbeat tempo ode to pizza. Yum, Yum!!
7. (2:55) **Pesadilla – Medium tempo semi-garage tune with a totally Burger Records vibe. Cool guitar riff and vocals.
8. (1:31) Tormenta – Another melodic medium-up surfer here. La Luz would be proud.
9. (2:24) **Tiburón – An ode to 1960s California surf recording. Medium-up tempo. Great one.
