George Clanton breathes life into a dead genre. Just two years ago, Vaporwave dwindled out and fell into the swirling whirlpool of internet detritus from which it rose. Here, George Clanton capitalizes upon many of the new wave, future funk, and 80s electronica aesthetics that made Vaporwave so appealing, but he imbues them with a new sense of life and purpose that was lost in the Macintosh Plus era records. While his vocals are mainly just sappy relationship things, his warped beats, soaring choruses, and warm aesthetic make this album unforgettable.
