Your Imaginary Friend

Local duo: guy on guitar and woman drums who share/combine vocs. Sweetest western twang guitar you'll ever hear. Surf elements, spaghetti western, beautiful guitar tone and one of the best male voices to emerge from SF in years (Chris Isaak? Kozelik?). Great Tom Tom based drums by the veteran of storied band Ovarian Trolly. Vivid imagery evoking lyrics as good as you'll ever encounter, vixens, cactus, little birds flying everywhere. For fans of Elvis, Orbison, Yoakum, Cave, Howard (Rowland S.), Cervenka/Doe. Every song amazing.

1)** (4:23) epic, first track for good reason, dark with slight surf, killer 2) (4:31) Elvis cover (?), classic slow romantic. 3)** (4:40) fem vocs lead, midpaced love song feel with an epic classic songwriting quality like that of any classic 4) (4:00) killer spaghetti western feel 5)* (4:36) classic ballad feel, fucking gorgeous w bird refs again, light bell embellishments and solo 6) (3:41) upbeat dark western surf returns, major toned turn around, so cool 7) (3:56) big dark triplet waltz 8)* (4:41) sexy loungey siren song female vocs, birds return with earthquake refs, grows heavy in middle 9) (3:45) male vocs return, big epic, houses smashed by winds, wow 10)* (3:34) more upbeat than others, Dwight Y came to mind. 11) (5:13) yet another beautiful ballad, fucking incredible bookend for an amazing cd
