Album Review
Your Imaginary Friend
Reviewed 2016-05-04
If you liked the recent Ty Segal you'll dig this: same strange rockin vibe. Elements of that robotic Devo delivery but mostly a full blast of disjunct rock (7/4 timings abound). Songs blend together and the last goes with the first making it a looped "concept" album (bring back the 8 track!). Because of this many tracks end a bit cold In fact all songs sound similar, retain a certain rockin vibe and theme that after a while take on a certain prog rock element.

1) (5:22) FCC ("fuck shit up"-great song upbeat driving but safe harbor only). 2) (4:54) (FCC?) picks up where previous left off, rockin with 7/4 timing in places 3) (4:21) more drivin rockin. 4) (4:45) slower this time to start but launches back into same vibe 5)* (4:56) mellower poppy start, funner almost Krautrock with organ 6) (7:14) big rocker 7)* (3:01) a cool prog flavor has taken over on this that midway even smacks of Latin Jazz, what a turn! 8) (2:54) comes right out of last, 5/4 Jazz beat 9) (4:18) train chugga beat begins turns very rocky, scaled back Metallica . Ends cold, like freezing cold
