Lonely is a Lifetime
This is well played alternate rock with great guitars, strong vocals, and occasional psychedelic touches. Most of the lyrics are bleak and depressing, even the ones that sound upbeat.
Genre: alternate rock
If You Like: Built to Spill, Neil Young, Beachwood Sparks, Pink Floyd, Robin Guthrie
FCCs: none
Favorite Tracks: Sleepers, Goodbye Song, on My Way
Track Review:
1. Overnight: upbeat rocker
2. Sleeper: slow tempo shoegazer
3. Goodbye Song: starts slow and builds, nice pedal steel, Neil Young type solo
4. Don’t Ask Me to Change: slow rocker, power chords that build in intensity
5. Happy Again: pulsing ethic beat segues into rocker
6. Leave Your Light On: rocks out, then shifts into vocal harmonics with sonic guitar
7. Help Me Out: alternate stadium rock
8. Lonely Is A Lifetime: slow ballad with tasty slide notes
9. On My Way: upbeat jangly rocker, reminds me of the Pretenders
10. Into the Sun: upbeat rocker
11. Hallelujah: slow ballad/space track
