Ambient shoegaze legends are back with more of the same, and it’s all bliss-out fantastic. Some tracks veer more towards standard post-rock, others shoegaze, and others ambient. “Narcoleptic dreamy ambience” (Your Imaginary Friend) and “bladerunnerdreamshoes” (Mister Esquire) sum up Hammock well.

6. (6:39) * We Could Have Been Beautiful Again—Melancholic post-rock with some build-ups and releases. What sounds like a recorded phone call at one point. Brings to mind Explosions in the Sky.

8. (4:50) ** She was in the Field Counting Stars—Calm, hopeful, sometimes breaks the calm and enters a chugging post-rock rhythm.
9. (3:34) Burning Down the Fascination—Heavy percussion, purposeful.
10. (4:29) Wasted We Stared at the Ceiling—Grand, maudlin strings and clapping beat.
11. (5:00) ** Reverence—Contemplative guitar, some bass fills, twilight sense of loss. Sounds like Benoît Pioulard.
12. (3:18) I Will Become the Ground You Walk On—Cantu-Ledesma type ambient track with strings.
13. (5:35) We Were So Young—Most distinguishable vocals. Outsized, heart-on-sleeve rock.
14. (6:07) * You Walk Around… Shining Like the Sun—Gleaming, fresh, wide-eyed.
15. (4:32) Unspoken—Female and male vocals at the forefront, electric guitar, gets more and more yearning and hopeful.
16. (3:16) * Before You Float Away into Nothing—Liturgical organ, last forty seconds ambient with a muffled field recording.
