Sauntering, country-informed musings on life and love. There’s bluesy guitars, gospel and jazz influence, acoustic meditations, and earnest vocals. Whitney takes intense influence from Girls (rip), a band they’ve opened for in the past. Songs are generally simple, catchy, sweet-and-sour jams but it’s all warm and innocent and brings back such nice memories of Girls.

7. (2:14) On My Own—Vocal-driven, some high register guitars, deep driving bass and percussion come in halfway.
8. (1:42) Red Moon—Slurred brass, gliding keyboards, jazzy, no vocals.
9. (3:26) * Polly—Soft synthesizer at beginning, triumphant flourishes, earnest, reminds me of Girls’ first album.
