Lunch Duchess’ debut EP titled, My Mom Says I Have A Rich Inner Life, takes me back to mid 1990s “Alternative Nation” sound before things went to corporate hell. The Minneapolis trio practices a mix of post-grunge and post-dream pop that offers catchy tunes, intense guitars, and a singer/drummer named Katharine Seggerman, who sounds like it’s 1995 all over again.

Recommended Tracks: 1, 2, 4

1. (2:12) *Cry– Vocals driven. Slow/medium tempo. Brief.
2. (4:12) **Unable/Unwilling – Slow intro. Guitar riff/vocals combo. More noisier that previous track. Very Mecca Normal/Papas Fritas circa 1995. Catchy.
3. (4:19) How You Love – Synth intro. Quiet guitars. Very few notes. Kind of Jazz rhythm. Medium tempo. Vocals lead track. College radio ballad.
4. (3:38) *Gross – Another college radio ballad. Mid 1990s alternative sound. Medium/medium-up tempo. Interesting rhythm changes.
