Young local musicians, alums of Balkan dance and music camps in the SF Bay area, pay homage to the great Balkan classics. They play Romani, Serbian, Macedonian and Greek brass band music. Lovely arrangements. Skillful and passionate singing and playing. Fanfare Zambaleta gives an added sheen to some intricate tunes. Balkan dance music par excellence!

NO FCC's; only four tracks – all are wonderful

1-Celo Skopje – 6:38 – tuba provides rhythm; singers provide Macedonian lyrics and harmony along with brass; it moves right along – really cool trumpet and clarinet solos

2- Vo Strumica Na Ulica – 5:26 – another Macedonian song. a little slower, more pensive, but still a dance tune with female singer

3- Zv'jezda Tjera Mjeseca – 3:19 – beat picks up; a fast Romani-sounding piece with female singer

4-Lane Moje/Ramo, Ramo – 7:26 – medley of Serbian songs; starts with pretty French horn solo; picks up speed; singer and band come in; nice modulations; segues into faster song; tricky horn duet in thirds
