Fire Dance is the latest 7” single by Merchandise’s Carson Cox. The Tampa native writes and arranges the instrumentation of these two outstanding guitar-pop recordings, assisted on vocals by his friends Sam York of Wall and Austin Brown of Parquet Courts. Lou Reed’s The Blue Mask comes to mind. RIYL: Parquet Courts, Luna, Wall, Merchandise and Lou Reed. FCC WARNING: 1 Recommended Tracks: 1 (FCC) & 2 1. (3:45) **Fire Dance – FCC (Fucked up). Impressive medium tempo tune with male/female vocals. Solid guitar work. The lyrics are the best here. 2. (6:33) ***Rene – What a track! Beautiful melody, amazing lyrics, great guitar work. Nostalgic atmosphere. Slow tempo. Impressively interpreted by Austin Brown. One of my favorite tracks of the year. | ||
