Gothic death rock out west. Cold, throbbing, shadowy, suffocating. Band members come from varied musical backgrounds including noise, industrial, psyche, and country. Another stellar release from Felte Records. One of my favorites of 2016.

1. (4:22) *** Scatter the Scars—Pulsing gothic jam with growling vox, eerie synths
2. (5:04) Nervous Hands—Classic post-punk, brings the chiming synths with a minute to go
3. (4:24) *** Bound by Light—Stormy industrial headbanger
4. (4:47) **** Coils and Magnets—Slow and elongated, flutelike synths and propulsive drums eventually bring in creepy vox, feels redemptive
5. (5:00) *** God Swamp—Gleaming, muted. Starts off like an instrumental track on a This Mortal Coil record and picks up the vox and synths, spooky
6. (4:13) **** Park Around the Corner—Driving fuzzed-out rock like Suicide, brief cheesy 80s synth riffs at times
7. (5:56) A Thoughtful Beast—Spectral, melancholy, forward-driven, with drum machine
8. (4:38) ** Spirit Murder—Bright, airy guitars and drum machine
9. (9:01) **** Going Upstate—Starts off with gloomy drones and spoken word like a Godspeed track, pulsing beat builds into a stark mostly instrumental journey, epic
