Sideline, “Colors and Crossroads” Label: Mountain Fever Records Reviewed by: Kim Walter, November 2016 Prolific Traditional Bluegrass band from North Carolina. Fine mix of solid BG with some slower, more unique sounding tunes. My faves: 2, 4, 7, 12 Trad BG: 1, 3, 5, 8, 10, 11 1. 2:21 med- trad BG, banjo predominant, positive message 2. 4:42 slow- album namesake, a Carolina fall in the Blue Ridge Mountains 3. 2:55 med- trad BG 4. 3;28 slow/med- spiritual with gravelly BG voice 5. 3:21 med- trad BG 6. 2:36 ***STATIC ON RECORDING**** 7. 4:27 slow/med- a BG story about Corey 8. 2:42 trad BG 9. 3:38 slow- ballad 10. 2:11 med/fast- trad BG 11. 2:22 med- BG sound 12. 4:03 slow- spiritual, nice end, but undeniably religious | ||
