Entrañas

Single 25-minute recording of a surprise mixtape Arca dropped last Independence Day. The title, “entrañas”, means “entrails” in Spanish, capturing Arca’s longstanding interest in bodies as art. Entrañas is sequenced into 14 impossible-to-distinguish segments. This is unrelenting industrial noise with percussive blasts, found sounds, and distorted voice fragments. There’s even a sample of a Cocteau Twins track somewhere. It all makes for a tense, terrifying, surreal, and most of all beautiful listen. Highly recommended.
