Paradise Valley is a surprise 7” that Liz Harris of Grouper released a few days before Christmas. Both tracks employ nothing more than voice and fingerpicked guitar, and this simplicity makes their emotional pull especially far-reaching. There’s a quiet optimism throughout, a change from Harris’ usual tones. Calm, purifying, beautiful
