Highly abstract and evocative journeys in saxophone. Recorded live with no loops or overdubs. Stetson positions this as a meditation on ambition, legacy, and the afterlife as modeled in the Greek tragedies. It has a kind of gaping, nostalgic sound that fills and elevates his personal wasteland. Exhilarating stuff, highly recommended.

1. (7:20) **** All this I do for glory—Breathless, trancelike groove and sinewy vocals. Bass notes move contentedly.
2. (7:36) ** Like wolves on the fold—Extremely fast sax notes slowly transform into a subaquatic death march.
3. (6:24) Between water and wind—Hissing noise, off-kilter motorik percussion, clicking keys. Anchored by some deep rumbling bass.
4. (6:28) *** Spindrift—Bright feverish sax over windswept vocal drones. Almost like an Emeralds track.
5. (2:48) **** In the clinches—Scorching bloodstained bass howls. Raw and angular.
6. (13:00) **** The lure of the mine—Ferocious lonesome sax moves towards some distant heaven. Gorgeous melancholy vocals. Disjunct finish.
