Amilia K. Spicer,”Wow and Flutter” Free Range Records Reviewed by: DJ Kimberlicious, May 2017 A girl who traveled from her native Pennsylvania, through Texas and Tibet, then ended up in both Austin and LA, Amilia is part of the female Americana singer/songwriter renaissance that is occurring right now. Her songs are gentle country rock with depth and meaning. I think she might be some beautiful, intellectual, talented musician. Best: 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 1. med – vocally dominant country rock 2. slow – gentle indie/Americana sound 3. slow/med – deep, full voice 4. slow – country tune, interesting vocal undulations w/ slide guitar 5. slow/med – indie Americana, singer/songwriter, fierce female anthem 6. slow/med – dominated by dreamy, husky, strong/soft voice 7. med – feel of funk 8. slow – dreamy song, sounds like Emmylou 9. slow – very dreamy/ piano 10. slow/med – country electric guitar 11. med – country rock w/ strong voice 12. slow – gentle song w/ gentle voice |
