Dave Adkins Trio, “Turn to Jesus” Label: Mountain Fever Records Reviewed by: Kim Walter, May 2017 Three Mountain true, gospel music loving men came together and recorded two impromptu videos on a cell phone. After posting them on a whim on facebook, the trio realized that they needed to do more after over 700,000 views of just ONE of the videos left the Bluegrass world screaming for more. This is mountain spiritual, gospel to the bone, bluegrass style! Best for me (the atheist that I am): 6, 7, 9. 1. 4:16 slow/med – gospel 2. 1:55 med – traditional bluegrass 3. 3:27 slow/med – classic country sound - Familiar to Dave Adkins’ fans 4. 4:55 slow – classic country 5. 2:40 med – trad BG 6. 3:56 slow – gentle and super religious, but I like it 7. 2:11 slow – spiritual, a cappella 8. 3:43 slow/med – religious classic country 9. 2:56 med – trad BG, enjoyable despite the atrocious grammar, catchy tune 10. 3:10 med – trad BG 11. 4:00 med – trad BG 12. 3:20 med – trad BG version of famous spiritual | ||
