(CLEAN) 11. Royce Da 5'9 - Stay Down f. Greg Nice - (self release): [95 BPM] Typically, when you characterize boom bap hip hop the drums are the prominent component. This track is definitely boom bap pulling from the 90’s but the drums and jazzy melodic sample are rather subdued with the punch coming from the emcees. The call response hook by Greg Nice keeps reemphasizes energy coming from the spitfire verses. Subject wise it’s a clever narrative of street life with gun talk but not too over clichéd.
