Dark, booming art rock with swagger. Facs are essentially the same band as Disappears; they have three of same members, and the sound of these demos picks up right where Disappears’ last album Irreal left off. This music is the aural equivalent of brutalist architecture in the dark—sheer, monochromatic, heavy, powerful to witness. Borderline gothic, hypnotic, heavy on the groove. These three tracks were put up independent of one another on Bandcamp, and they don’t constitute an official release, but they’re exciting and absolutely worth playing in their current form. RIYL: Disappears, My Disco, New War. All great. No FCCs.

1. (8:25)—Medium-slow, patient, rolling. Heavy, loud beginning and a long instrumental intro. Moody, minimal surf guitar.
2. (4:18)—Medium-fast, pulsing. Deep, heavy backbeat. Really cool rolling fills. Sci-fi goth guitar.
3. (3:49)—Medium-slow, almost funky. Feels more like a conventional 90s alt-rock track. Chiming, melodic guitar.
