The fourth album from Austin, Tx.’s A Giant Dog fuses the gaudy delivery of 1970s rock and the pillars of modern punk. Its songs offer lyrics about sex without typical depictions of love. A Giant Dog's modus operandi is well-established. Lines between punk, glam rock, and art-pop running like watercolors in a pre-K classroom. Toy is a more-than-worthy successor to last year’s excellent Pile opus, gnawing away at your affections with carefree abandon – an oversized canine you’ll be glad to see off the leash.
