Avante mathy prog infused experimental jazz tinged rock. Chamber type instruments collide with rock instrumentation, with female vocals in places. Brings to mind the epic Mission of Burma associated project Birdsongs of the Mesozoic (check them out). See also Chrome Hoof, Miriodor. Stalwart band with roots back 35 years, on the legendary Cuneiform Records. Excellent. 1) (6:38) quiet slow intro, halting mathy but upbeat prog, clarinet, slow phrased fem vocs 2) (5:44) layered fuzzy guitars, clarinet, piano, disjunct and heavy in places, ends sorta sparse, no vocs 3)* (4:44) vocs return , disjunct, dissonant, trippy 4)* (10:06) plodding dissonant acoustic guitar under composed organ, chamber type feel, vocs, chill at times but goes through bombast 5) (4:02) chill w flute but then heavy 6) (13:56) many moods, cool and dramatic | ||
