Planet Earth’s longest running modern surf band, formed in 1979 in DC (!) but now based in LA .. nice kind of surf crossed with instrumental psych, high energy punk and retro soundtrack music

Related: Link Wray, The Ventures, Thee Oh Sees
Favorites: 1, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10

1. (4:32) ** Flying Fish Offramp—Sweet guitar solos, slows down to something more minimalist
2. (2:36) Fjord Hornet—High energy jammy guitar track
3. (4:30) Iceberg Lantern—Roaring chiming guitars
4. (2:51) Red Mesa—Jammy guitars and driving bass, really cool cascading drums
5. (3:50) * Liftoff—Sounds like Thee Oh Sees, fast energetic
6. (2:35) * East West Highway—Fun twee surf
7. (2:42) * Tapping the Source—Sweet pleasant gits, later gets more dissonant
8. (3:50) Wavelength—Fast surf punk
9. (3:25) ** Southern Swell—Solo guitar, last rites at sundown
10. (8:31) *** Datura Moon—Spacious, exploratory instrumental surf. One of my favorite tracks of the year!
