This CD has reached #1 on the Amazon Classical Chart (Oct, 2017). Founded in 1997, this Dominican order, with average age of 30, has a Motherhouse in Ann Arbor, MI. They’ve appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, and received publicity through NPR, NY Times, CNN, et al. This multi-cultural Christmas album features music from ten countries, spanning centuries from ancient to modern. The CD, recorded in the reverberant Motherhouse, includes acapella arrangements and small chamber orchestra accompaniment tracks. The voices are clearly youthful and joyous. The pieces range from the festive Carol of the Bells to the sublime Christmas Proclamation and the harmonious Wake, Awake, For Night is Flying, as well as original compositions such as Snowflakes. Traditional favorites include Away in a Manger, Carol of the Bells, Adeste Fideles, Joy to the World and We Wish You a Merry Christmas.
