Summary: Second full-length album from this experimental blues/punk/soul band from New York. The album paints the picture of the life of a door girl. Vocalist sound has been compared to Patti Smith. Each track sounds different from the last with multiple genres embraced in one album.
New York Minute Prayer (1:49): voices delivered over soothing piano and male background vocals.
Morning Terrors Nights of Dread (4:27): singing over a catchy track. A more rambunctious finish begins at 3:00 with yelling and fast guitar work.
Revelations of a Stamp Monkey (4:04): more of a hip hop track, storytelling with political themes, 2:33 rap entrance
Add Value Add Time (5:34): about the NYC subway. easygoing track with a heavy reggae feel.
EMT Police and Fire Department (4:19): punk vibe, yelling, catchy guitars
After Hours (4:35): delicate piano, cymbals, very mellow track with emotive vocals about love.
Shilpa Ray’s Got A Heart Full of Dirt (4:02): delicate pianos, organ, boisterous and fun vocals, sad song.
Manhattanoid Creepazoids (2:51): catchy guitar, sounds slightly like She&Him
Rockaway Blues (3:47): catchy lyrics, climactic ending
You’re Fucking No One (6:07): somber piano with slow vocals, at 4:00 more instruments enter and the vocals become more energetic with a fade ending.
This is Not a Dream Sequence (1:08): short instrumental. the sound of banging drums, falling plates, wind, and a bit of distant screaming.
My World Shatters By The BQE (5:01): dark and sad, pianos, emotional operatic vocals, ends with the sound of wind and chimes.
