Freshly released on Full Spectrum, this is another welcome addition to the plethora of quality experimental sounds currently available. Captures perfectly “ the tension between rural and urban life” Ambient qualities working alongside the darker underbelly of bleak industrial atmospherics, albeit with a wry sense of humour within the track titles. No surprise that friend of KZSU, Andrew Weathers, had a hand in this splendid recording.

1) Our New Music (4.04) An eerie descent into the depths. Long quiet fade.
2) Big Time Nature Bros (4.10) Caustic & gritty rumblings between the guitars & effects - a claustrophobic wonder.
3) Eulogy (for American Football) (5.01) Lush droney expanse of mellower industrial grime. Another long fade.
4) Books That May Be Worth Selling (5.21) Bleak waves of drone, gradually lifting into the brightness.
5) Tan Lines (5.09) Long drawn out pensive drone. A ship lost at sea but not in distress.
6) Cook Out Stomach (4.32) Glitchy & rich with touches of neo folk dramatics.
7) Kombucha Entrepreneurs (4.19) Brooding fermentation.
8) High Falls I (1.03) Wind swept field recordings.
9) Siri, What’s the Time in Durham? (5.35) Slow paced yet bright & optimistic. Effected instruments combined with outdoorsy sounds.
10) High Falls II (1.16) As 8, with faint manipulated spoken word.
11) Hush (4.16) Waves of droney pleasure. Long fade.
12) High Falls III (1.30) Low rumblings.
13) Earth Tones for Bruce (7.46) Static affected sounds with various instruments put through their paces. Slow paced & atmospheric. Fades out.
