The Moonlandingz may have started their life as a fictional band, but one spin of their 2017 album Interplanetary Class Classics shows they have more life coursing through their veins than 99.9% of all the "real" bands out there. When the Eccentronic Research Council needed to concoct a band for their 2015 album Johnny Rocket, Narcissist & Music Machine...I'm Your Biggest Fan, they called up Lias Saoudi and Saul Adamczewski of Fat White Family and together they came up with a sleazy, greasy glitter punk band. Like: Fat White Family, Tame Impala. The Horrors, The Flaming Lips FCC on 3, 5. Play: 2, 3, 5, 4 1.Vessels (3:31) - Melding slabs of filthy synths, Flipper-esque brays of sax. 2.Sweet Saturn Mine (3:48) - harpsichord and sci-fi effects with evil vocals. 3.Black Hanz (4:22) - Mellotron choirs with a bunch of layers of crazy synths. 4.I.D.S (3:47) - Dark Laibach at the disco. 5.The Strangle Of Anna (3:41) - Abba harmonies with weird spoken word and radio plays. 6.Theme From Valhalla Dale (1:13) - Spooky retro short instrumental. 7.The Rabies Are Back (3:11) - Electro-Glam with a dark sense of mischief. 8.Neuf Du Pape (2:50) - Skittering experimentation of knowingly daft masterclass. 9.Glory Hole (4:03) - Sparks in the prime of seventies pomp. 10.Lufthansa Man (4:59) - Glistening krautrock synths. 11.This Cities Undone (6:11) - Psychedelic jam session like the rest of the album. | ||
