Album Review
Your Imaginary Friend
Reviewed 2018-06-06
Acerbic organ driven rock that smacks of garage, surf, and horror rock a la Phantom Limbs. Quintron also comes to mind in the ultra bad ass searing organ and irrepressible beats. Male vocals, some songs veer into pop and the accessible. No FCCs amazingly despite the mean tones. Another killer release from Dirty Water.

1)* (1:27) soulful bad ass organ driven swamp 2)* (2:35) slow start but kicks into an upbeat hooky melodic accessible chorus 3) (2:26) tribal toms and dark evil tone, bouncy 4) (4:05) surfy overtone and bubble gum fun 5) (1:52) upbeat punky driving 6) (3:45) slow mindful ballady goes upbeat 7)* (3:40) Tom tribal upbeat quintesstial stuff 8) (3:08) very songlike, poppy and composed, almost traditional 9) (1:39) dark horror tone returns 10) (3:24) mid paced w minor progressions slow phrased, desperate feel in vocs 11) (3:59) slow dark Organ intro, launches into dark cool rock “be quiet or be killed”.
