LUMP is the hypnotising, surrealist and curious collaboration from indie-folk queen Laura Marling and award-winning producer (and Tunng member) Mike Lindsay. Recorded in Lindsay’s London studio, Marling and Lindsay’s meeting of minds produced the cerebral LUMP, seven long, idiosyncratic, frequently ambient tracks. On the self-titled album LUMP, the reminiscence of Marling’s voice from previous records, is noticeable through her serene contrasting lines of almost spoken lyrics comparing to long vibratos that accompany a visual, experimental landscape surrounding.

Play: 1, 4, 6

1.Late to the Flight (5:35) Twinkling synths, twanging guitars and undercurrents of odd rattling.
2.May I Be the Light (4:46) Introductory drone pulsating beneath, as the vocals creates a hypnotic world.
3.Rolling Thunder (4:29) Tough vocals, typewriter-like clicks, keyboards, and flute sounds.
4.Curse of the Contemporary (4:13) Avant-pop cool breeze of droning flutes that loop through the lagoon.
5.Hand Hold Hero (5:26) Synths and riffs play over a constant beat that gathers speed, disappears and reappears.
6.Shake Your Shelter (5:22) A salty sea breeze of a song, twinkling keyboards and floating backing voices.
7.LUMP Is a Product (Credits) (2:05) Short monologue of spoken word lyrics whispered
