Heavy heavy dark dissonant rock from Finland on Svart Records. Jesus Lizard/Big Black/Scratch Acid Albini’esque big drums, guitars, bass tones with desperate angry male vocals. Excellent incorporation of dark almost goth elements, industrial noises, early Swans even. Like a bomb going off. Sure this isn’t from Chicago or New York? Great stuff, perfectly produced, I had to check twice to see if Albini had his hand in this (nope). 1)* (8:32) slow guitar and vocal intro, dark dramatic, after 3.5 minutes the band appears, crashes in heavy and loud, with 3 minutes left, it shifts again with tons of metal clanging industrial, epic masterpiece 2) (4:16) nearly straight forward rockin, with cool noise breakdowns 3) (5:25) slightly mathy time sig, cool, man just a bomb going off 4) (3:28) lots of good tribal pounding, fuzzed dark vocals 5)* (5:44) slow industrial plod, dark gothy tone, killer 6) (5:02) pounding then a weird no wavey dissonant funky post heavy rock, slightly more accessible almost pop tone, probably because of the U2 new wave high hat beat in places 7) (3:51) big pounding with dissonance in guitar 8) (5:59) relentless, pounding rock, vocals get a little slick and almost numetal, and the guitar goes on a wankfest, very unlike previous | ||
