Bright and cheery soft indie rock, understated softly delivered male vocals, accomplished guitars bass drums. Belle and Sebastian come to mind. Veteran indie rockers (McIntire from Tortoise formed this Chicago band around ’94). Masterful at what it is, has hallmarks of what in the 70’s was called soft rock, later referred to snarkily as yacht rock. Very mellow, not “post-rock” as the mention of Tortoise might imply. Just alarmingly beautiful soft rock (I think I got my annual dose mellow indie pop reviewing this just now for sure).

1) (2:51) upbeat cheery 2) (3:18) jangly and smooth 3)* (4:54) upright bass gives this a genuine sound 4) (4:42) super soft bordering on yacht rock 5)* (3:30) acoustic guitar intro belies a rockin edge that quickly follows 6) (3:23) very chill instrumental 7)* (3:19) upbeat, nice delivery 8) (3:53) smooth, slightly orchestral 9) (3:37) upbeat cheery 10) (4:53) slower triplet best and ever so darker
