Sarah Davachi Let Night Come on Bells End The Day Recital Records Sarah Davachi is one of the best ambient artists out there. Soft drones and hidden melodies. Haunting and still, yet ever changing. Mellotron, electric organ, synths. “It’s designed for late night listening – however noticeable side effects may include waking up the listener such is the power of the work. At a low volume it may lead to drowsiness but you’d be missing out. Play it loud, leave the windows open, watch the moon rise”. Very beautiful . RIYL Deaf Center, Insect Factory’s Melodies from a Dead Radio. [quotes from A Closer Listen review] *1. garlands (2:54) Starts with a few seconds of silence then slow organ drone with ever changing chords *2. mordents (11:15) Starts off with a simple clumsy phrase then grows in complexity and layers ***3. at hand (6:05) high pitched melody drone ***4. buhrstone (8:17) “A repeated piano phrase continues under everything while higher pitched tones climb their way upwards, panning around the ears” 5. hours in the evening (13:00) One long slow build of a drone so dense you could float away on it |
