This “collaborative debut exists somewhere between neoclassical and electronic music, where the lines aren't so much blurred but broken. In some spots, A Heart From Your Shadow, which was mixed by Jim O'Rourke and mastered by James Plotkin, occupies recent realms found in the adventurous compositions of Giant Claw and Seth Graham, and in others, rapturous cello noise and minimalist meditations based around hypnotic percussion. **1. Intro (3:01) Nu-classical somewhat melodic and somewhat suspicious. Moves from delicate to guitar fuzz and ambulance
**2. So Much Trash (3:10) Polyrhythmic percussion and wiggly tones. Recorded and slightly glitchy female voice in last 5 seconds
**3. Paper Tiger (4:21) Quiet stops and starts, circular strings a la Philip Glass, big atmospheric booms that come in and out, very Tim Hecker. Silence last 10 seconds
*4. Gully (3:34) Rhythmic percussion opens and continues
***5. Smooth Face (2:30) Cello cries over the rising voices and falling drone and later a buzz and siren. Really dramatic and a little (delightfully) weird
*6. Fake Money (3:20) Something you might hear while walking through villages in Morocco, the twang sets up a melodic ambience that’s bright, sensitive then develops cool percussive rhythms for a bit before back to twang
**7. Roses (6:10) Psychedelic. Vangelis or Jean=Michel Jarre like synths suddenly stops and then turns into a slow layered progression of cello and synths until it gets really melodically noisy (but never super loud)
**8. Promise (1:44) Repetitive wind noises with a little abstract cello/synths
***9. Icon (4:10) Musique concrete meant to be played loud. Beautiful noise
*10. Petaluma (1:08) Dark buzz up into floaty synths on a rainy day with female selling rain hats
