An Exploded View of Time
Hausu Mountain
“Inspired by fractals and self-similar structures at the conceptual level this is the a singular work of time-based experimental music” by solo sax. Repetitive and crazy so pretty minimalist. I can’t figure out when this guy breathes at all on the album. Really really really good high quality stuff here. RIYL Steve Reich, Philip Glass, Colin Stetson
**1. Vesica Pisces (5:32) Repetitive almost monotone only changing in intensity then starts panning. Later arpeggios. My description sounds so blah but it is so minimal and beautiful and exciting
**2. Boogie Woogie Phase (6:28) A minimal see-saw between two notes that slowly slowly get more complex and constantly changing. How can this possibly be one person with no loops or pedals?
**3. Deus Ex Machine (8:49) High pitched haunting sounds into a drum’s snare roll into a super complex highland jig over droning. Hints somehow of classically Indian music like it’s a sitar or sarod or something
4. Pressure Wave Meditations I-XXIII (4:52) High pitched and not furiously moving or repetitive. Still minimalist. A strange aria
**5. Broken Arc (4:04) RIYL fast Philip Glass arpeggios in Koyaanisqatsi
6. Dust (2:27) Quiet start to drawn out drone
**7. Round Up (3:33) A little squeaky round about
