Sonny Smith sans Sunsets means laid-back and strummy, but still weird and cool. The SF staple zones in on relaxing, singalong folky sunshiney tunes reminiscent of Byrds and other nostalgic folk-rock sounds, with plenty of weirdness

1. (2:34) ****** Sweet and shimmery intro, sunny and nostalgic folky, and with enough weird instrumentations (even a harp!) that keep it novel and weird
2. (3:58) ***** Fun western two-step boogie, laconic and cool vocals with sweet moog
3. (3:13) *** Antic, on-edge strumming "doo-be-doo-be-doo", xylophone sparkles
4. (2:46) *** Hazy, with chin-scratching vocals punctuated by shimmery guitar wipes
5. (3:37) **** Crunchy SoCal guitar, storytelling vocals with supportive chorus behind him, eventually into chimey old pianos and gongs
6. (2:04) *** Stomping rhythm with hillside atmosphere, flutes and all
7. (3:02) *** Angel Olsen joins with a frail duet, overall AM rock sound
8. (2:40) **** A Sly Stone riff into shimmery piano with swaggery rhythm
9. (3:17) *** Supremes-y glassy piano into omnious spy sounds, into sunshine singalong
10. (3:40) ***** Funky bass with calypso rhythm, snarly vocals buoyed by endless weird synth and percussions, intentionally repetitive "bores me to tears..."
