Razia, a singer-songwriter from Madagascar mixes jazz, pop, and native tradition to produce a series of captivating heartfelt songs with outstanding guitar accompaniment. Part African sounding (Malian), part island (think West Indian or Hawaii); part absolutely unique exotica while expressing universal sentiments that can touch you without needing to understand the lyrics

No FCC's (all Malagasy); Favorite tracks –1, 2, 5, 6, but ALL tracks are worth playing

*1 –Tsy Lany (It Never Ends) –3:46 – powerful singing – fatalistic love sung with Malagasy lyrics

*2 –Mbola Velogno (Still Alive) –4:10 – cool island rhythm underscores a breakup

3—Lalagny Araiki (The Only Road) – 3:45 – the road to the end is singular; nice guitar work

4 –Filongoa –(Malagasy proverbs on the value of friendship) –3:32 -- more straightforward rhythm with island overtones

**5 –Antalaha –(My Hometown) –3:52 – clove and vanilla spiced paean to Razia's origins; fun!

*6—Ayo –4:51 – longing for someone named Ayo-- evocative 6/8 rhythm with echoey drum and violin

7 – Remandreny (Parents) –4:06 – time to say goodbye and let go and not worry; with Emel Mathlouthi—nice harmony refrain

8—Nave –4:02 –exuberant uptempo celebration of homecoming
