No Wave revival with dissonance, noise searing guitar, desperate vocals, big dissonant bass. No New York (classic comp record- see vinyl section) comes quickly to mind: urgency of James Chance, sick guitar of Mars, Lydia Lunch, and moments of irreverence for everything a la The Fall. I suppose I belie my age with these references but I think they are pretty apt. If they make no sense, consider it a homework assignment. Just check out No New York.
