Kyle Motl, Solo Contrabass
Reviewed by: Kim Walter, May 2019

Interpretive contrabass cello from PhD music student and member of the Intercultural Creative Music Group, Sibarg Ensemble. It sounds broody and at times like someone just experimenting making noises on a cello, but Kyle is some kind of mad musical genius and each piece is created and finely honed to express whatever message Kyle has for the world, (What that is, I couldn’t say, but I’m sure it transcends the mere cacophony of sounds possible with a cello.)
There are 15 tracks of experimental solo contrabass from 1-6 minutes. My faves were 11 and 15, but all are interesting and worthy of a listen. Enjoy!
