Disco/synthpop duo from LA, originally formed to soundtrack skate videos for The Worble Skate Collective (google: Manramp). Later contributed to the soundtrack for Thrasher Magazine’s King of the Road. Equally influenced by 80’s synthpop (The Human League, Soft Cell) italo disco (Ryan Paris, Fancy), and mid-2000’s blogosphere nu-disco (Justice, Walter Meego, Cloetta Paris). All tracks are fun, a bit lo-fi, and a little (s)punkish. Nothing too tryhard sleek and overproduced here. All in all a great release. For fans of Glass Candy, Chromatics, DEVO, John Maus, and a less “Brooks Brothers” version of Cut Copy. FCC on 2. Try: 4, 3, 8

(1.) (1:02) Short synth intro (2.) (2:24)(FCC: fuck) DEVO-esque chanting over slick too-cool-for-school disco (*3.) (4:20) Deep rumbling Moog synthesizer intro, sci-fi interstellar vibes. Epic buildup with crashing 80’s hairmetal guitars and alternating passionate male and female vox (*4.) (3:46) Nostalgia-soaked synthpop disco with an infectious deep groove. Dance party in Outer-A! (5.) (1:34) Marching beat, surfy guitar instrumental (6.)(3:29) Kraftwerk meets Quincy Jones and they try to make a Talking Heads song (7.) (2:35) Chipper glittery synth instrumental (*8). (4:06) Lo-fi synth disco. Glorious cascades of sunny keyboard. Well-placed guitar plucking. John Maus undoes the second and third buttons on his shirt and finally lets loose… (9.) (4:51) Gently undulating 80’s synth rock, would fit perfectly on an 8-track (10.) (2:43) Strummy indie folk outro with lush crooned vocals and tambourine
