Debut release from 22-year-old Atlanta soul singer/multi-instrumentalist Sequoyah Murray. Murray was a participant in the 2018 Red Bull Music Academy in Berlin where he was classmates with Flying Lotus, Nina Kraviz and Hudson Mohawke under the tutelage of Detroit techno producer Mike Banks (Underground Resistance). This EP features four songs, all of them eclectic, confessional, and intimate. The heavy East African influence is a nod to his heritage. Indeed, the whole project is generational and family-oriented, with Sequoyah’s father contributing percussion and his mother and brother contributing vocals. All tracks FCC Clean. Start with 1 or 4. RIYL: Sampha, Majid Jordan, PartyNextDoor, James Blake

*1. (4:07) Smooth emotional vocals, deep throbbing bass, skittering futuristic synth lines, great percussion 2. (3:13) Piano love ballad, lots of textures and layered instrumentation 3. (1:28) Blaring horns, off-key violins, wavering chants. Textured and experimental *4. (4:05) Layered, upbeat and dancey with silky smooth vocals and strummy guitar. At the 2:30 mark, it transitions with a really unique xylophone bridge before returning to the original chorus
