Lost in my pile of CDs in need of review but recently resurfaced, this CD is a solid mix of their old-timey music and bluegrass that really sounds good. It is some of the best BG I’ve heard in a while. There are also original instrumentals, gospel spirituals, and even a cover of a lesser known Beatles song (#6). My faves are 1,2,3,6,9,10, and11, but all are radio worthy.
*Med - Wistful, uptempo, instrumental
*Slow/Med - Cover of American folk song
*Med - Original tune, old timey with a BG feel
Med - Mandolin based instrumental
Slow - Original- dedicated to a member’s father
*Med - BG cover of a Beatles tune
Med/fast - Original BG instrumental
Med - BG cover
*Med/Fast - Cover of the Carter Family’s uptempo tune
*Slow/Med - Mournful waltz named after a reform school
*Med - original tune, BG old timey
Slow/Med - Cover of Larry Spark’s bluesy spiritual
