INDIE FOLK; FEMALE VOCAL HARMONY
Lovely and spare, folkish vocals by a trio of female singer-songwriters. This is the second album by this group. (Made The Harbor, 2010, is in our library.) Accompaniment is at most a single acoustic guitar; some tracks are a cappella. Amelia Meath also led the electronic-pop duo Sylvan Esso; Zookeeper shows strong airplay of that group’s debut album.

1 Slow. Gorgeous, solo voice. Stunning, but sadly it’s just a short intro. (0:55)
2 * Mid-tempo. Three voices in tight harmony. Cheery like a children’s song. (2:18)
3 * Slow. Gentle love song accompanied by simple Carter-style acoustic guitar. (2:49)
4 Mid-slow. Like a campfire song with nonsense lyrics. (3:29)
5 Slow. A cappella harmony. Sounds old-time. Interesting but not one of the best. (1:54)
6 VERY slow. A cappella harmony. Melancholy, hill-country folk tune. (2:22)
7 Mid-tempo. Guitar intro. Strained upper-register singing is a bit harsh, not pretty. (3:54)
