Review: Pianist Pintchik’s 7th release is live, and she shows off all of her strengths here teamed with her trio on several original compositions and three well-crafted covers. As a pianist, Pintchik plays this music with the wit, nuance and beauty her fans have come to expect. Moreover, the trio—with the exceptionally expressive bassist Hardy and the genre-bending drummer Sarin—has been playing together for over eight years, and it shows. The band and music are tight, but also alive and fresh: both cohesive and vibrant, the best of both worlds.
