Finnish band (Svart Records): “ …drone soundscaping and massive industrial churn, electronic beats and synthesized sprawl, in order create an atmosphere all its own…One can listen to Osiris Hayden and hear krautrock, prog, post-metal, drone, doom, EDM and whatever else one wants to hear” (The Obelisk). I’d throw in words like psych, dark-goth-tinged as well. Mostly instrumental, vocals serve as instrumentation when present, very unobtrusive. Many songs blend into following so watch cold stops (play on continuous and fade out instead) or play together. Great stuff.
1)* (6:29) lush slow fade in, balm is joined by bass, then a spooky beat appears, echoey and dark and guitar led goth psych long form instrumental jam ensues 2) (3:51) skippy drums, echo layers but heavy beat all in all, vocals appear as an instrument in that it blends echos and does not overbear, blends into next 3) (5:25) mid straight beat, more melodic almost upbeat, also blends into next 4) (3:48) dreamy, interlude of sorts 5) (4:05) good solid beat with this one despite it being 5/4 timing or such 6) (2:07) epic tone with soaring melodies over dramatic beat, non-sensical super cold ending, almost like a track glitch (I strongly suspect the track is cut off on accident, so fade this one out for sure) 7) (4:40) somewhat chiller downtempo feel 8)* (2:15) another somewhat disjunct segue out of previous (?), but goes into the next perfectly 9)* (4:50) cool solid beat, like a 7/4 time signature or something weird but doesn’t come across that way, eastern flare, drone, noise
