In All Right’ Capps presents a mesmerizing mix of red dirt Tex-Mex, Bob Wills twang, and some synth-pop into a rock solid third release and the second in his space-country trilogy. In the disk PR he paraphrases Sam Phillips saying ‘if you aren’t doing something different, you aren’t doing anything’ and whether its his mash-up of rich vocals against synth’s and pedal steel, or his cowboy poet commentary on the meaning of life, he certainly produces a uniquely different, yet accessible sound which he labels ‘cosmic country’. All tracks are eminently playable.

RIYL: Luba Dvorak, The Birds, Tired Pony, Lord Huron (no joke)

3: Sunday Sun - sublime mix of guitar, bass and pedal steel (med, 3:46) *
4: A Beauty in the Horizon – twangy, spacey rocker about a cosmic road trip (fast, 4:45) ***
5: Lately – lovely pondering the meaning of it all as one ages and forgoes the dreams of youth with sweet accordion (fast, 3:24) **
6: Lonely Heart – bittersweet duet with Carson McHone about a good for nothing guy being left by his love (med, 4:50) *
7: Babe, I’ve Got to Go – full bore rocker with great fiddle work (think Charlie Daniels Band on acid) (fast, 4:00) **

9: Brand New Dance – expansive, spooky tale of what happens after one’s demise (med, 7:00) *
