Oakland band, guitar rock with vocals mostly male, some F backing. Could easily be a late-80's/early 90's album if I didn't know better.
1. shoegaze rock getting my head nodding. This song is a good intro, if the rest of the album is this good we're in for a treat.
2. slightly discordant guitars clashing with the vocals. Still an active beat keeping it moving forward. Like a part of the trip where it could go either way.
3. interlude with alien synth sounds and then no-beat vocal wanderings.
4. Less feedback, louder vocals. My Bloody Valentine hints, though I'm not liking it as much as the first couple tracks.
5. guitar instrumental like ocean waves, that kind of beachy feel. Female vocals start in second half, I can't tell if they have words.
6. ringing guitar, m+f vocals, happy song.
7. gentle noise fade-in with backwards-sounds, psychedelic guitar. Slower rock song in the middle, quiet last minute. Enjoyable journey.
8. drum machine goes to shoegaze - pop. Happy. Should have come out of the UK.
9. brief chaos
10.faster tempo noise-rock, lots of feedback, sunny sound
11.brief guitar & effect instrumental
12.shoegaze album closer, simple theme repeats while more elements layer on, uplifting
No FCCs detected (not that I can really hear what they're singing)
