Heavy gameboy-driven drum & bass / IDM from Tokyo’s prolific breakcore auteur Tsunematsu Hikaru. Raw, stripped-down amen break samples get crammed into a compressed sonic space with sparse 8-bit synth lines, some funky keyboard melodies here and there, but mostly the amens steal the show. Crank this alongside Venetian Snares, Autechre, Doormouse, whatever you need to stay up till 4am in a smoky dungeon rave. FCC clean, all instrumental.
1. (3:28) extremely blown-out harsh amen break samples phasing in and out of rhythm, psychedelic synth and lots of stereo panning
2. (2:09)** more straightforward breakcore with blown-out kicks, fades into a short ambient outro
3. (2:34)* slick and polished nocturnal jungle, like Tangerine Dream meeting Aphex Twin at a fancy but low-key cocktail bar
4. (3:25) 4/4 acid techno, breaks take a backseat to the acid
5. (2:36)*** fast-charged breakbeats, nothing else, just the percussion
6. (3:28) early pokemon gameboy melodies, light and whimsical with just a touch of d&b
7. (2:24) more whimsical gameboy melodies with breakbeats way up in the mix
8. (4:02) subtly offset and stereo-panned breakbeats, more cerebral synth breakcore
9. (2:30) funky synth bass with subtle techno beats, a danceable bathroom break
10. (4:44) twinkly new-agey bells and chimes, mellow breakbeats
11. (2:42) funky synth with slightly more aggressive breaks
12. (2:23) nocturnal acid techno with subtle synth harmonies, an ambiguous denouement to an all-night bender
